Full Stack Engineer, Elixir Backend Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Elixir services utilizing Phoenix, Ecto, and OTP, which includes APIs, background jobs, and workers.

• Create and enhance partner-facing REST APIs, focusing on versioning, outbound webhooks, and ensuring delivery guarantees.

• Engage with ledgers, points balances, settlement, and reconciliation processes, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

• Take ownership of frontend features from inception to completion using React and TypeScript, encompassing admin and partner dashboards along with their APIs.

• Utilize AI coding assistants, such as Claude Code, on a daily basis while evaluating their outputs.

• Conduct thorough code reviews and serve as an additional layer of oversight for system accuracy.

• Compose clear pull request descriptions, architectural notes, and documentation in conjunction with the code.

• Collaborate effectively with product and infrastructure teams regarding deployment, monitoring, and security on AWS.

⛳️ Requirements

• AI-focused: Utilize AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) on a daily basis.

• Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience, with a minimum of 4 years concentrated on backend development.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in production environments using Elixir with Phoenix, Ecto, and OTP.

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including real SQL, transaction semantics, and performance optimization.

• Solid experience in REST API design and background job processing (such as Oban or equivalent), including retry mechanisms.

• Demonstrated experience in the loyalty, travel technology, payments, or FinTech sectors.

• More than 3 years of experience with React and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with AWS (ECS, RDS, S3), Docker, and CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions.

• Fluent in English.
