Full Stack Engineer, Data Orchestration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop features comprehensively from the Java Micronaut backend, encompassing REST APIs, orchestration engines, plugins, testing, and documentation.

• Create data-aware orchestration systems for asset management, lineage tracking, freshness, and maintaining data quality.

• Enhance and establish integrations with tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, cloud data warehouses, and other components of the modern data stack.

• Contribute to the flow editor, topology views, dashboards, and execution monitoring user interface utilized by data teams.

• Partner with the Product Manager and engineers to define and deliver features within 8-week release cycles.

• Review pull requests and engage in public discussions regarding changes on GitHub.

• Actively participate in the open-source community.


⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in data engineering, specifically in building or managing data pipelines.

• Proficient in Java and a contemporary backend framework; experience with Micronaut is preferred, while familiarity with Spring Boot or Quarkus is acceptable.

• Strong frontend development skills with Vue 3 and TypeScript; willingness to deepen Vue expertise if experienced in React or another modern framework.

• Familiarity with Pinia, Vite, and the Monaco editor.

• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or H2.

• Knowledgeable about distributed systems, including queues, schedulers, and reliable job processing at scale.

• Comfortable using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

• Exceptional communication skills and clarity in writing; able to discuss technical decisions openly in GitHub repositories.

• Ownership mentality with the capability to iterate swiftly based on feedback.

• Ability to collaborate with teams distributed globally across various time zones.

• Experience with dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, contributions to open-source projects, or experience in B2B software/open-source companies.
