Full-Stack AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design and construct robust, idempotent data ingestion pipelines for creative and performance metrics at scale.

• Generate and oversee multimodal embeddings while managing a suitable vector store.

• Develop retrieval pipelines that deliver precise, low-latency responses for AI agent tools.

• Deploy agent-style systems featuring tool utilization, state management, and multistep reasoning workflows.

• Create and maintain a React frontend for the creative intelligence library and query interface.

• Take ownership of systems through the phases of design, development, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

• Contribute to decisions regarding technology stack based on hands-on production experience.

• Collaborate with product teams and enterprise partners to convert requirements into dependable, scalable systems.

• Establish a data ingestion and intelligence layer tailored for enterprise media clients.

• Convert unstructured creative assets and advertising performance data into a semantic, vector-based layer accessed by AI agents and a React frontend.

• Complete the application form and record a video as the initial step in the interview process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in TypeScript.

• Experience working in serverless or edge computing environments, such as Cloudflare Workers, Vercel, Lambda, or Deno Deploy.

• Proven experience in developing durable, idempotent ingestion pipelines featuring queuing, retry mechanisms, backpressure management, deduplication, and schema evolution.

• In-depth understanding of embeddings, chunking strategies, and tuning for retrieval quality at a production level.

• At least one agent-style system successfully deployed in production, encompassing tool usage and stateful multi-step workflows.

• Proficient in React with familiarity in modern patterns and component architecture.

• Capability to operate across two cloud environments while analyzing edge compute against managed data/AI services.

• Prior experience in remote work and proficiency in remote collaboration tools and platforms like Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, and Linear.

• Ideally, experience with US- or UK-based organizations.

• Fluent in English with the ability to complete application documents in English.

• Preferred: production experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Preferred: knowledge of embedding models along with understanding dimension, quality, and cost trade-offs.

• Preferred: experience in ETL design, data pipeline observability, or evaluation of retrieval quality.

• Preferred: background in adtech, performance marketing, or marketing analytics.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with vector databases.
