This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Schedule and manage microbiological testing for all SKUs and co-manufacturers.
β’ Create and monitor lab submission forms from the point of sample collection to the review and release of results.
β’ Implement monthly hold/release decisions for all SKUs.
β’ Examine cutting forms, log results, send release emails, and maintain records of releases.
β’ Oversee monthly production verification and nutritional testing processes.
β’ Act as the primary QA contact for the CS-Food channel.
β’ Address customer complaints by classifying their severity, requesting further information, and determining necessary escalation procedures.
β’ Resolve straightforward complaints and escalate food safety or significant issues to the Senior Manager of FSQA.
β’ Initiate and document formal quality investigations under the guidance of the Senior Manager of FSQA.
β’ Collect lab results, batch records, cutting forms, supplier COAs, and complaint histories.
β’ Collaborate with co-manufacturers and suppliers to gather root-cause data.
β’ Prepare investigation reports and CAPA documentation for evaluation and approval.
β’ Assist in food safety investigations related to microbiology, raw materials, and production records.
β’ Record testing, hold/release, and complaint data in internal compliance trackers.
β’ Maintain quality-document libraries for co-manufacturers and suppliers.
β’ Compile the weekly QA digest and supply data for reporting and trend analysis.
β’ Represent QA during quality calls with co-manufacturers and 3PLs.
β’ Relay hold/release instructions, tickets, and sample inspection requirements to 3PLs.
β’ Share investigation results and feedback with Customer Support.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or a related discipline.
β’ 1β3 years of experience in a QA role within the food, beverage, or pet food industries.
β’ Proficient understanding of microbiological testing protocols, including APC, listeria, salmonella, and E. coli.
β’ Familiarity with lab coordination workflows.
β’ Excellent communication skills with co-manufacturers, labs, Customer Support, and internal operations via Slack and email.
β’ Proven attention to detail with extensive documentation management.
β’ Ability to adapt to ambiguity and the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing CPG.
β’ Willingness to travel as required.
β’ HACCP and/or PCQI certification is a plus.
β’ Previous experience with co-man networks and SARF/cutting form workflows is advantageous.
β’ Experience in pet food, fresh food, or freeze-dried manufacturing is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with investigation and CAPA methodologies is beneficial.
β’ Comfort with AI-assisted workflows is a plus.
