This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver strategic and program-level leadership across Medical Writing FSP teams.
• Set and communicate priorities and direction effectively.
• Oversee recruitment, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and colleague development.
• Create organizational structures that align with business priorities, client needs, and future growth.
• Drive changes to departmental scope, processes, and operating models.
• Develop and manage budgets, resource planning, capacity forecasting, and workload management.
• Advocate for Medical Writing capabilities and visibility among senior stakeholders.
• Foster cross-functional relationships with Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacokinetics, and Phase I Medical Writing.
• Anticipate business, regulatory, and client needs while leading through transformation.
• Innovate approaches to enhance capabilities, processes, and service delivery.
• Identify new Medical Writing initiatives, partnerships, and opportunities for business growth.
• Collaborate with Business Development and senior leadership on new business initiatives, client presentations, proposals, budgets, and contract negotiations.
• Cultivate senior client relationships and address complex client and operational issues.
• Manage and escalate significant program or project risks and challenges.
• Represent and advocate for Medical Writing both internally and externally.
• Extensive relevant industry experience, typically accumulated over 15+ years, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and professional experience.
• Significant experience in people leadership, generally 7+ years in management or leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading senior, geographically dispersed, and/or client-focused teams.
• Deep understanding of global and regional medical writing and regulatory requirements throughout clinical development, marketing authorization, and post-authorization/late-phase activities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the product development lifecycle and the role of Medical Writing within it.
• Strong strategic leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in people leadership, including performance management, coaching, mentoring, talent development, and organizational design.
• Skilled in program and project management, encompassing resource planning, budgeting, forecasting, prioritization, and risk management.
• Commercially aware with experience in business development, proposals, client presentations, and/or contract negotiations.
• Proven track record of fostering cross-functional partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Ability to lead through change and influence without direct authority.
• Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated success in enhancing quality, efficiency, or client outcomes.
