Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold the Keet Desktop, a cross-platform P2P communications tool.

• Create UI/UX elements utilizing React on the Pear runtime.

• Enhance the performance of the application.

• Construct and sustain strong frontend capabilities for decentralized communication.

• Engage with P2P connections and data replication frameworks.

• Collaborate within a remote, globally distributed team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in production-level applications.

• Strong proficiency in state management using Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or comparable technologies.

• Capability to produce modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Robust skills in testing and debugging intricate frontend applications.

• Profound interest or experience in P2P technologies or distributed systems.

• Comfort in working within a remote, globally distributed team.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Excellent proficiency in English communication.

• Preferred: Experience in desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar environments.

• Preferred: Familiarity with video/audio APIs, WebRTC, media streams, and real-time communication.

• Preferred: Proven ability to enhance UI performance, including rendering and memory management.

• Preferred: Experience in creating cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, Linux, or similar systems.

• Bonus: Contributions to open-source software initiatives, particularly in P2P or decentralized technology.
