Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform peer-to-peer communications application.

• Create UI/UX components using React on the Pear runtime.

• Enhance application performance with a focus on rendering and memory management.

• Conduct testing and debugging of intricate frontend applications.

• Establish and support resilient peer-to-peer connections and data replication systems.

• Participate in advancing decentralized communication technologies.

• Collaborate effectively with a remote team that spans the globe.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in production-level applications.

• Strong expertise in state management with tools like Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or equivalents.

• Capability to write modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Proficient in testing and debugging complex frontend applications.

• Keen interest or experience in peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems.

• Comfort in working within a remote and globally distributed team.

• Effective communication skills.

• Preferably experienced in desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar platforms.

• Familiar with video/audio APIs, WebRTC, media streams, and real-time communication technologies is a plus.

• Proven ability to optimize UI performance, including rendering and memory management, is preferred.

• Experience in building cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, Linux, or similar is desirable.

• Contributions to open-source software, particularly in P2P or decentralized technology, are advantageous.

• Proficient in English communication skills.

• Must complete application questions without the assistance of AI tools.
