Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Keet Desktop, Tether’s cross-platform P2P communications application.

• Implement user interface and user experience designs utilizing React on the Pear runtime.

• Optimize the performance of the frontend.

• Contribute to the advancement of decentralized communication technologies.

• Collaborate with an open-source technology stack along with P2P connections and data replication systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in production-scale environments.

• Strong proficiency in state management tools (Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar).

• Ability to produce modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Solid skills in testing and debugging intricate frontend applications.

• Profound interest or experience in P2P technologies or distributed systems.

• Comfort in collaborating within a remote, globally distributed team.

• Effective communication skills.

• Preferred: Experience in desktop application development (Electron, Tauri, or similar runtimes).

• Preferred: Familiarity with video/audio APIs (WebRTC, media streams) and real-time communication.

• Preferred: Proven ability to enhance UI performance, including rendering and memory management.

• Preferred: Experience in building cross-platform applications (macOS, Windows, Linux, etc.).

• Bonus: Previous contributions to open-source software projects, particularly in P2P or decentralized technologies.

• Excellent proficiency in English communication.
