Web Developer, UI/UX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Perform user research, conduct interviews, and execute usability tests to identify workflows and challenges.

• Develop user journeys, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes; collaborate with stakeholders for iterations.

• Create responsive and reusable front-end components using HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern framework (Angular, React, or Blazor).

• Establish and maintain a design system and style guide to ensure a consistent look, feel, and behavior.

• Guarantee compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, and test with assistive technologies.

• Collaborate with back-end engineers to integrate front ends with RESTful APIs.

• Implement secure coding practices and assist in addressing findings from security scans.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and demonstrations.

• Create unit and UI tests while documenting designs, components, and usage instructions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related discipline, along with 2–5 years of relevant experience (additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

• Practical experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one modern framework.

• Expertise in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

• Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams utilizing Git and a work-tracking tool like Jira or Azure DevOps.

• A portfolio showcasing UI/UX work from research through to final products.

• Possession of an active DoW Secret security clearance or higher; candidates lacking a minimum of a Secret clearance will not be considered.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Required work hours: 8am to 5pm PST.
