Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform peer-to-peer communications application developed using React and operating on the Pear runtime.

• Execute UI/UX enhancements.

• Enhance application performance.

• Contribute to the evolution of decentralized communication.

• Collaborate with an open-source technology stack, incorporating peer-to-peer connections and data replication systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with React/Preact along with modern JavaScript/TypeScript in large-scale production applications.

• Strong proficiency in state management techniques (Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar).

• Capability to produce modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Robust skills in testing and debugging intricate frontend applications.

• Profound interest or experience in peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems.

• Ability to thrive in a remote, globally distributed team environment; possessing strong communication skills.

• Preferred experience in desktop application development (Electron, Tauri, or similar runtimes).

• Familiarity with video/audio APIs (WebRTC, media streams) and real-time communication is preferred.

• Proven ability to optimize UI performance, including rendering and memory management is preferred.

• Experience in building cross-platform applications (macOS, Windows, Linux, etc.) is preferred.

• Contributions to open-source software projects, particularly in P2P or decentralized technology, are a plus.

• Excellent communication skills in English.
