Fresh Food QA Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the subject matter expert for designated regions regarding technical aspects, food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, product development and implementation, supplier and facility approvals, as well as in-store procedures.

• Perform facility audits and quality assessments at commissaries, bakeries, and distribution centers.

• Evaluate food safety, food production process controls, adherence to specifications, and vendor and plant approvals.

• Advise stakeholders and facilitate corrective actions along with timelines; conduct follow-up visits to monitor progress.

• Review products for compliance with specifications through surveillance, sampling, and investigation of complaints.

• Develop and assess quality and food safety documentation, standards, training specifications, and evaluation tools.

• Assist with food safety and regulatory compliance in stores, addressing food safety controls, equipment, regulatory matters, recalls, non-compliance issues, HACCP or OSHA concerns, permitting, remodels, and new store construction.

• Deliver FSQA training as a subject matter expert for Operations, Merchandising, Store Leaders, and significant events such as 7-Eleven University.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of management experience.

• Registered Sanitarian, Certified Professional of Food Safety, or similar certifications are preferred.

• A degree in Food Science, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field is preferred.

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.

• Comprehensive understanding of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, Food Defense, Auditing Principles, and FDA and USDA regulations is necessary.

• Strong skills in counseling, facilitation, training, and modeling are required.

• Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one or in front of larger audiences.

• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.

• Attention to detail is crucial for technical reporting.

• Must reside in Remote WA or Remote OR and be able to commute to the supported territory.
