Functional QA Tester – Mid to Senior Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.

📋 Description

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to uncover gaps, clarify expected behaviors, and outline test coverage.

• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, checklists, and test data.

• Conduct functional, exploratory, smoke, regression, integration, and API testing.

• Validate user workflows, edge cases, error handling, and compatibility across various browsers and devices.

• Log defects with detailed reproduction steps, expected and actual outcomes, along with supporting evidence.

• Investigate issues utilizing available tools, logs, and network information to assist developers in identifying root causes.

• Collaborate with developers, project leads, and stakeholders to clarify concerns, verify solutions, and evaluate release readiness.

• Prioritize testing activities based on business impact, product risk, and delivery schedules.

• Communicate testing progress, obstacles, coverage gaps, and unresolved risks.

• Oversee QA responsibilities across multiple projects while ensuring quality and adhering to agreed deadlines.

• Suggest enhancements to testing processes, documentation, and product usability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of professional QA experience, with a strong emphasis on manual and functional testing.

• Proficient or fluent in English (C1 or higher).

• Must reside in Panama and be eligible for full-time employment in Panama.

• Proven experience in testing web applications, including intricate workflows and business rules.

• Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle.

• Experience in testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools, including response validation, status codes, authentication, and error handling.

• Capability to utilize browser developer tools to examine network requests, console errors, and application behavior.

• Familiarity with issue-tracking and test-management tools like Jira, Linear, TestRail, TestLink, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience collaborating in Agile teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• A proven track record of independently managing testing activities and following issues to resolution.

• Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing tools such as BrowserStack.

• Basic programming or scripting skills.

• Ability to organize and complete tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision.

• Aptitude for raising questions, blockers, and quality risks early, providing clear context and actionable recommendations.

• Capacity to balance competing priorities, provide realistic estimates, and communicate changes that may impact delivery.
