French Speaking Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Deliver precise, thorough, and respectful video interpretation between English and French, including occasional over-the-phone sessions.

• Ensure faithful communication without adding, omitting, or modifying the intent of the speakers.

• Adhere to professional interpreter ethics, standards of practice, and company guidelines.

• Uphold confidentiality and comply with relevant healthcare privacy regulations.

• Exhibit cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds, communication styles, and patient preferences.

• Maintain professional demeanor and exercise sound judgement regarding the boundaries of the interpreter's role.

• Adapt to changing technology, workflows, and service demands.

• Engage in mandatory training, coaching, and quality assurance activities.

• Complete the structured evaluation process and foundational training before participating in live sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient, professional-level verbal communication skills in both English and French.

• A solid understanding of the medical interpreting field, including informal interpreting experience, such as assisting family members.

• Capability to interpret medical information accurately and comprehensively in both languages.

• Willingness to undertake a medical interpreting proficiency assessment as part of the hiring process.

• Cultural awareness and comfort in navigating the US healthcare environment.

• Strong reliability and sound judgement, with a focus on customer service.

• Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and adaptability to new remote technologies.

• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.

• A dedicated home office space reserved for this position: a private, distraction-free room with a locking door, with no visibility of the screen by others, and equipped with wired high-speed internet; Wi-Fi, hotspots, satellite, and DSL connections are not permissible.

• Comfortable being on camera for most of the work shift.

• Residing in Egypt and available to work remotely.

• May necessitate working night shifts aligned with US Eastern Time (ET).
