Freight Operations Specialist – In-Country Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee international air, ocean, and ground shipments from the point of origin through customs clearance, final delivery, and warehouse receipt.

• Solicit and evaluate quotes, suggest routing based on cost efficiency and transit duration, and schedule approved shipments.

• Organize cargo-ready dates, pickups, product and carton label approvals, and delivery appointments with manufacturers, carriers, and warehouses.

• Create and review packing lists and commercial invoices; confirm consignee information, addresses, Incoterms, HS codes, and country-of-origin details.

• Facilitate customs clearance and examine entry summaries.

• Monitor shipments, maintain client-facing trackers up to date, communicate status and delays, and address shipment issues.

• Utilize TMS and WMS systems to oversee bookings, shipment milestones, and warehouse receipts; ensure accurate shipment records are maintained.

• Generate monthly client expense reports that include warehouse costs, inbound and outbound freight, and products procured by Passport Global.

• Review 3PL and freight charges, rectify billing discrepancies, manage credits, and identify opportunities for service or cost enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing international freight shipments from start to finish across various modes.

• In-depth understanding of freight operations, Incoterms, shipping documentation, and customs clearance procedures.

• Practical experience with TMS and WMS systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through; capable of handling multiple shipments and deadlines.

• Analytical and proactive problem-solver who can effectively coordinate with clients, manufacturers, forwarders, brokers, and warehouses.

• A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
