Freelance Web Developer, TYPO3, WordPress

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Execute tasks assigned by the marketing team, which includes modifying content, buttons, links, and layouts.

• Create landing pages, pop-ups, and promotional banners based on provided designs or your own creative insights.

• Incorporate third-party services such as online appointment scheduling, social media feeds, and forms.

• Detect and rectify display problems on both desktop and mobile platforms.

• Manage and enhance WordPress websites, including the zahneins Campus site.

• Gradually, and upon agreement, undertake TYPO3 system updates, extension maintenance, and further enhancements.

• Collaborate with the SEO specialist on modifications that impact rankings, URLs, or tracking mechanisms.

• Ensure that dental practice websites and zahneins’ corporate site remain technically sound and visually appealing.

• Support over 80 locations with their websites, enabling appointment bookings and candidate recruitment.

• Navigate through ticket-based workflows, Git branches, merge requests, and conduct reviews prior to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient written German language skills.

• Several years of experience in TYPO3 development, ideally with TYPO3 versions 12/13, Fluid, TypoScript, and Content Blocks.

• Familiarity with TYPO3 multisite setups and site configurations.

• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience with integrating external services and interfaces, such as booking widgets, XML/JSON feeds, and REST APIs.

• Solid expertise in WordPress, including theme customization and plugin creation.

• A mobile-first approach and commitment to clean responsive design.

• Capability to implement layouts accurately from Figma or PDF documents.

• Exceptional attention to detail and experience in testing across various devices and browsers.

• Proficiency in semantic HTML with a clear heading structure, alt text, and descriptive link text.

• Compliance with consent regulations and asynchronous integration of external widgets.

• Proficient in Git, including branches, merge requests, Composer, and Docker-based development environments.

• Familiarity with Lighthouse, PageSpeed, and Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP).

• Expertise in responsive image delivery utilizing srcset, WebP/AVIF, and targeted lazy loading techniques.

• Adherence to PSR-12 and the TYPO3 Coding Guidelines.

• Willingness to respond to new tickets within one business day.

• Ability to address urgent issues, whenever feasible, on the same day.

• Provide references or links to TYPO3 projects, your preferred hourly rate, and your available weekly capacity.
