Freelance Subtitler – Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Czech, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, Chinese for Taiwan

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Translate and provide subtitles for Audio Visual trailer assets in accordance with client-specific guidelines.

• Conduct quality assurance on subtitles produced by other freelancers.

• Translate actor dialogue while adhering to visual and technical standards.

• Deliver subtitle files in SRT format.

• Translate on-screen text content.

• Translate and propose forced narratives that communicate plot-relevant on-screen information.

• Translate text for key artwork and digital advertisements.

• Establish ongoing work capacity prior to commencing assignments.

• Complete seasonal theatrical projects from September 2026 to April 2027.

• Manage increased workloads during the fourth and first quarters, coinciding with major awards and film festivals.

• Complete a minimum of two titles per week during peak season.

• Deliver fast-paced projects, often within a 24-hour timeframe.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native proficiency in Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese for Taiwan, or Czech.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in subtitling.

• Proficiency with Subtitle Edit software.

• High proficiency in English.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

• Quick responsiveness to feedback.

• Completion of a short subtitling test and security screening is mandatory.

• Passing an online security assessment and reviewing a security training video is required.

• Availability to handle at least two titles per week during peak periods.

• Ability to meet urgent 24-hour delivery deadlines.

• A portfolio or work samples are preferred.

• Familiarity with Jira is considered an asset.
