This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Act as a representative for Fulkrum and its clients during field QC Inspector operations.
• Perform visual inspections of commodities based on qualifications and experience.
• Assess material test certificates to ensure compliance.
• Oversee and validate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Conduct pre-shipment inspections and confirm readiness for dispatch.
• Carry out inspections following Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Examine client-provided ITPs and method statements, addressing any discrepancies.
• Organize and implement inspections adhering to documented procedures.
• Generate, review, and submit comprehensive field inspection reports within 24 hours.
• Document all findings and issue Non-Conformance Certificates when necessary.
• Ensure the confidentiality of inspection data and communicate findings to authorized client representatives.
• Identify subcontracted test results in reports.
• Guarantee compliance with Client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Confirm calibration of inspection equipment and its traceability to recognized national or international standards.
• Engage in internal audits and provide management with reviews on inspection results and process enhancements.
• Notify management of any conflicts of interest or undue pressures that could compromise impartiality.
• Uphold Independence, Impartiality, Integrity, and Confidentiality in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020 principles.
• Assist Fulkrum and international clients on assignments throughout Japan as needed, based on location, discipline, certifications, client requirements, and availability.
• Degree, Diploma, or an equivalent technical qualification in Engineering or a related field.
• Significant practical experience in Quality Control, Vendor Inspection, or Third-Party Inspection.
• Previous experience assisting international clients and/or inspection agencies is a plus.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, energy, heavy industry, power generation, offshore wind, or similar industrial sectors is especially welcome.
• Relevant professional certifications based on discipline, such as COMPEX, ATEX, CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, BGAS Grade 2, AMPP/NACE Level 2, SSPC Level 2, ASNT Level II, or equivalent.
• API certifications are preferred for applicable inspection disciplines.
• In-depth knowledge of ASME, ASNT, API, NACE, and related industry standards.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment in hazardous area environments.
• Extensive inspection experience in Oil & Gas across both onshore and offshore projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of ISO/IEC 17020 and inspection quality management protocols.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with clients effectively.
• Capability to work independently and represent Fulkrum professionally at client and vendor locations.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing business requirements.
• Ability to provide clear and prompt inspection reports.
