Freelance Fantasy Content Creator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create original and insightful articles on significant sports news and events.

• Deliver prompt and concise fantasy analysis regarding breaking news, injuries, transactions, and game outcomes for the NBA, MLB, NFL, and other sports.

• Offer fantasy analysis for live broadcasts and on-demand video content.

• Generate and propose innovative ideas for content and event coverage.

• Collaborate with writers and contributors from NBC Sports/Rotoworld to guarantee near-continuous coverage.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a sports writing role.

• Knowledge of and experience in fantasy sports writing.

• Proficient in using fantasy terminology within written content.

• Strong editorial judgment and an ability to engage with various sports properties.

• Capable of working effectively in a team setting.

• Willingness to learn and adapt as storylines and trends develop and change.

• Experience with social media platforms, especially X, Bluesky, and Instagram.

• Background in sports betting and participation in fantasy sports is advantageous.

• Availability during nights and weekends.

• Ability to perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks.

• Capacity to track major storylines across various sports and produce clearly written, editorially sound, and user-friendly content.

• Familiarity with CMS and digital environments.

• Proficient in sports research/statistics sources and methods with an ability to fact-check efficiently.

• Knowledge of AP style guidelines.

• Strong comfort with video and audio editorial presentation.

• Comfortable collaborating with an editor.

• Submission of a resume/CV is required.

• Must possess unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
