Content Creator, Entertainment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Curate and manage the USA TODAY Entertainment homepage

• Develop app notifications featuring timely, relevant, and high-performing content

• Create engaging social media content, including videos, that reflects the voice of USA TODAY

• Curate and/or compose USA TODAY Entertainment newsletters

• Collaborate with reporters, editors, and audience development teams to enhance coverage

• Identify promotional opportunities, such as live events, comments, and AMAs

• Implement the user-generated content strategy and package content for both on-site and off-platform use

• Oversee influencer outreach and partnerships as necessary

• Assist with optimizing on-site content for better discoverability

• Experiment with new platforms and tools to foster audience growth

• Support live coverage for breaking news and major events

• Design a cohesive off-platform audience experience and develop scalable growth strategies

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 3+ years of experience, ideally within a digitally-oriented news organization

• Journalism experience or education is essential

• Experience in the entertainment sector is required

• Proficient in creating content optimized for social media, newsletters, or search engines

• Familiarity with SEO, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok

• Strong commitment to detail, accuracy, fairness, journalistic ethics, and best practices

• Ability to multitask and perform well under deadline pressure

• Comfortable using analytics tools such as Parse.ly, Google Analytics, and Google Trends

• Expertise in creating content for TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram

• Experience with video editing software, including in-app tools, Canva, and Premiere

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Familiarity with Hootsuite, True Anthem, and Echobox is preferred

• Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, sometimes on short notice
