Fraud Analyst Intern – Earnings

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Perform in-depth investigations of customer accounts and consolidate complex evidence to inform high-integrity case decisions.

• Utilize data mining techniques across transaction and behavioral datasets to detect fraud patterns and identify emerging risk factors.

• Oversee fraud dashboards and real-time alerts to reduce financial losses and stay ahead of sophisticated fraudsters.

• Collaborate with teams in Payments, Customer Support, and Product on initiatives related to fraud and chargebacks.

• Lead special projects aimed at enhancing fraud playbooks, internal tools, and reporting systems.

• Partner with Fraud Analysts, Operations leaders, and cross-functional teams across Payments, Product, and Customer Support.

• Contribute to special initiatives that influence how Super.com addresses fraud at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Finance, Economics, Criminology, or a related field.

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.

• Familiarity with SQL or business intelligence tools is highly beneficial.

• 1–2 years of relevant professional experience or internships are preferred.

• Demonstrated ability in data analysis or investigative work through academic projects, co-op placements, or extracurricular activities.

• Strong attention to detail with a knack for synthesizing patterns and spotting anomalies in complex datasets.

• A critical thinker and proactive problem-solver who excels in navigating uncertainty within a dynamic environment.

• Quick learner with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to create a meaningful impact in a high-growth startup.

• Previous experience or exposure to fraud prevention, risk management, payments, e-commerce, or customer operations is an advantage.

• Candidates must reside in Canada.

• Minimum 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone is required.

• Must be available to work a 40-hour week.

• Ability to work core hours from 9/10 am to 5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility on start and end times.

• Must live in the same country as their school for the entire duration of the internship.

• The internship should be part of an academic program or completed independently, as applicable.
