
Fractional CFO – Litigation Funding Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Act as a strategic financial partner to the leadership team of the firm.
• Create and manage a cash flow forecast that distinguishes between regular billing and litigation funding withdrawals.
• Oversee the relationship with the firm's litigation funding partners.
• Produce financial reports for partners and guide their understanding of the firm's economic landscape.
• Standardize month-end closing processes, accounts receivable/payable, and financial controls.
• Collaborate with a new Controller to establish the finance department.
• Exercise the discretion and judgment required in a professional services partnership.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a CFO is essential.
• Proven experience in a professional services environment is mandatory—specifically in firms that provide expertise in time increments (such as law firms, accounting firms, or consulting firms); this is a baseline requirement.
• Some direct experience within a law firm setting is necessary.
• Proven track record of building relationships with and educating partners or equity stakeholders about financial performance.
• Strong expertise in cash flow forecasting and liquidity management, ideally with considerations for contingency or alternative revenue timing.
• Must be adept at constructing financial infrastructure from the ground up instead of taking over an existing one.
