Founding Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create and develop AI agents and automated workflows aimed at enhancing clinic operations, which include tasks such as verifying insurance benefits, managing prior authorizations, facilitating patient intake, handling claims, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.

• Develop web and mobile functionalities for clinicians, patients, families, and the internal operations team.

• Tackle ambiguous challenges from inception to implementation in collaboration with operators and clinicians, define the issues, formulate specifications, and deliver initial versions.

• Design services, data models, and APIs while managing infrastructure through code.

• Take responsibility for services in production, encompassing deployments, monitoring, and incident management.

• Generate evaluations for model-oriented features and monitor workflow metrics.

• Safeguard protected health information by employing least-privilege access, ensuring no PHI is logged, and maintaining auditable changes.

• Develop and sustain engineering skills, plugins, MCP integrations, and review bots for Claude Code and Codex.

• Manage features comprehensively across the platform within a flat engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and delivering production software.

• Recent, hands-on experience in utilizing or creating AI harnesses that extend beyond basic model API calls, including project instructions, tools and MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents, and evaluations.

• At least one personal project that has been built and published online, accessible and usable by the general public; ideally a SaaS with functional payment systems such as Stripe.

• Strong full-stack proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with experience spanning frontend, backend, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

• Adeptness in navigating a large, established codebase.

• Practical experience in building with large language models (LLMs), encompassing tool usage, agent orchestration, structured outputs, retrieval, and evaluations.

• Daily engagement with AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor; capability to configure project instructions, skills, MCP servers, hooks, and subagents, execute parallel tasks, and review outputs.

• Strong product intuition and the ability to make UI decisions independently, utilizing a component library without a dedicated designer.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry, including knowledge of HIPAA, payer and claims workflows, EHR integrations, or HL7/FHIR is a plus.

• Familiarity with Temporal or another durable workflow engine is advantageous.

• Experience with React Native is desirable.

• Experience in conducting LLM evaluations or safety checks in a production environment is beneficial.

• Experience in developing an agent harness, MCP server, or coding-agent plugin is a plus.

• Contributions to open-source projects or development of internal tools utilized by others are favorable.
