Foster Parent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Welcome young individuals aged 6–18 into the home located in Boulder, Denver, Adams, Larimer, and Weld Counties.

• Provide daily care, stability, and support to youth receiving therapeutic services.

• Create a safe, stable, and inviting home environment.

• Assist children and youth with daily routines and the development of life skills.

• Attend appointments, therapy sessions, and school meetings as required.

• Implement trauma-informed caregiving techniques and behavioral strategies.

• Advocate for youth permanency and offer support to birth and kinship families.

• Promote independence and foster healthy social relationships.

• Collaborate with the youth’s professional treatment team.

• Document progress and ensure compliance with foster home licensing requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Stable income sufficient to cover household expenses.

• A private bedroom must be available for foster youth.

• Ability to offer a safe, nurturing, and affirming home for all children/youth, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+.

• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation are necessary.

• All household members must successfully complete background checks and health screenings.

• Willingness to obtain certification as a treatment foster home through SAFY of Colorado.

• Completion of 60 hours of pre-service training prior to the start of the contract.

• Experience in caregiving, education, or behavioral health is considered beneficial.
