Forward Deployed Engineer, United Kingdom

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with enterprise clients, managing technical tasks throughout initial demonstrations, proof-of-value projects, and extended implementations.

• Assist customer engineering teams in adopting Claude Code and reimagining their software development lifecycle.

• Co-develop agentic applications and modernize outdated systems using the Claude developer platform.

• Work alongside business stakeholders to implement agents in sales, customer support, finance, and other essential operations.

• Create prototypes and deliver production-ready code.

• Facilitate Claude Code Labs and customer workshops.

• Transition customer teams from novice to advanced users of Claude Code, Claude for Work, Cowork, and the developer platform.

• Document deployment strategies for forgd's methodology and Anthropic's product teams.

• Conduct investigations into customer engineering toolchains, workflows, business operations, and organizational dynamics.

• Develop comprehensive technical plans and provide guidance on issue management, branching, testing, code reviews, and security protocols.

• Lead adoption initiatives across engineering teams and business units.

• Define project scopes, including assumptions, risks, milestones, and dependencies.

• Create technical documents such as evaluation frameworks, MCP servers, sub-agents, and deployment configurations.

• Collaborate directly with Anthropic through joint working sessions and provide product and engineering feedback.

• Guide clients from proof-of-value to production, resulting in measurable engineering improvements, customer references, and account growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years in a customer-facing technical role or a hands-on engineering position.

• Software development experience within a high-growth startup or enterprise setting.

• Practical experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, agent design, and evaluation frameworks.

• Proficient user of Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.

• Familiarity with enterprise development toolchains, CI/CD processes, contemporary SDLC practices, and cloud-native deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong communication skills with individual contributors, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders.

• High self-efficacy and comfort in ambiguous situations; ability to work independently in client environments.

• Experience in professional services or consulting is a plus.

• Proven track record in enhancing developer productivity or experience at scale is advantageous.

• Industry experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated sectors is a plus.

• Experience in driving organizational transformation is a plus.
