Forward Deployed Engineer – North America

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with enterprise clients and take charge of technical tasks during initial demonstrations, proof-of-value projects, and extensive implementations.

• Facilitate Claude Code Labs and conduct customer workshops.

• Assist customer teams in progressing from beginner to advanced user levels across Claude Code, Claude for Work, Cowork, and the developer platform.

• Codify deployment patterns and relay them back to forgd's methodology and Anthropic's product teams.

• Conduct investigations into customer engineering environments, toolchains, workflows, business operations, and organizational dynamics.

• Translate discovery insights into well-defined technical plans.

• Provide guidance on AI-native development practices, including issue management, branching, testing, code review, and security protocols.

• Steer adoption initiatives across engineering teams and business divisions.

• Define the scope of engagements, encompassing assumptions, risks, milestones, and dependencies.

• Co-develop agentic applications utilizing the Claude developer platform.

• Create evaluation frameworks, MCP servers, sub-agents, and deployment configurations customized to customer technology stacks.

• Work directly with Anthropic on customer-related projects.

• Develop prototypes, deliver code, lead workshops, draft specifications, and make decisions to transition customers from demos to full deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical position such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Technical Consultant, or in a hands-on Software Engineer or Product Engineer role.

• Proven experience in software development within a high-growth startup or enterprise setting.

• Experience in writing, deploying, and maintaining production code.

• Practical experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, agent design, and evaluation frameworks.

• Proficient user of Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants.

• Knowledge of enterprise development toolchains, CI/CD processes, and modern software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.

• Familiarity with cloud-native deployments on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong communication skills across individual contributors, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders.

• High level of agency and comfort with ambiguity; capable of working independently in customer environments.

• Background in professional services or consulting is a plus.

• Experience in enhancing developer productivity or developer experience on a large scale is advantageous.

• Experience in the financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries is beneficial.

• Experience in driving organizational change is a plus.
