Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Integrate with enterprise clients to gain insight into their communication workflows, AI applications, and integration hurdles firsthand.

• Develop and implement tailored solutions, including AI Voice Assistants, Telnyx APIs (Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless), and WebRTC.

• Direct POCs, pilot projects, and production launches from initial concepts through to live deployment.

• Take ownership of customer outcomes and remain involved until solutions are operational and stable.

• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence the roadmap based on real-world insights.

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation and runbooks, ensuring solutions are maintainable for handoff.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate integration challenges in collaboration with customer teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in software development or technical consulting.

• Proficient in several programming languages: Python, Node.js, Go.

• Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven development, and cloud-native practices.

• Familiarity with SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems.

• Ability to diagnose issues from vague complaints like "it's not working" to identify root causes.

• Comfortable engaging in high-stakes technical discussions and working on customer premises.

• Bonus: Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text (STT), or large language model (LLM) conversational systems.

• Bonus: Proficiency in SQL (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle).

• Bonus: Experience with ETL processes and data manipulation.

• Bonus: Understanding of DevOps principles (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).

• Bonus: Background in telecommunications, CPaaS, or rapidly growing SaaS companies.
