Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Lead the discovery phase within client operations.

• Establish requirements, success criteria, and project scope through direct interaction with personnel executing the tasks.

• Create architecture diagrams, sequence flows, and data models.

• Choose the most straightforward design that fulfills the requirements and document the associated trade-offs.

• Design and develop full stack applications, backend services, and integrations.

• Implement integrations with EHRs, ATSs, billing systems, and legacy platforms, including those that are undocumented and unsupported.

• Prototype and collaborate with client users to reduce the time between requirement gathering and delivering functioning software.

• Guide and mentor both onshore and offshore development teams.

• Take ownership of code quality, delivery speed, and engineering standards.

• Facilitate code reviews, architecture decisions, and sprint planning activities.

• Transform recurring solutions into reusable frameworks and internal tools.

• Assist in scoping, estimating, and discussion of expansion with client stakeholders.

• Maintain and operate what you launch, ensuring monitoring, incident response, and post-deployment iterations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven years in full stack software development.

• At least three years of experience leading development teams and managing technical delivery.

• Proven track record of owning architecture and delivery from conception to production.

• Expertise in Python, Node.js, React, SQL Server or MySQL, and AWS.

• Capability to interact directly with non-technical stakeholders and convert operational needs into technical solutions.

• Preferred experience in the Healthcare domain, especially in EHR, revenue cycle, or claims data.

• Previous experience working on-site with clients or in a similar customer-facing engineering position.

• Experience in managing distributed and offshore engineering teams.
