Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive business workflows by documenting inputs, processes, approvals, and quality benchmarks.

• Assess the potential for transitioning workflows to agents, particularly in scenarios where AI is not required.

• Design and implement agentic workflows utilizing Snowplow's shared factory framework.

• Establish approval checkpoints, autonomous actions, human approvals, and maintain audit trails.

• Explicitly articulate domain knowledge, systems of record, and quality standards for agent utilization.

• Enhance prototypes to ensure reliability, manage edge cases, facilitate evaluation, and encourage adoption.

• Collaborate with domain experts to refine outputs and integrate their insights into validation checks.

• Train functionalities to manage and adapt workflows, subsequently transferring ownership.

• Oversee post-transfer enhancements in collaboration with embedded and platform engineers.

• Create and document replicable workflow transformation patterns and reference implementations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience delivering real software within another organization’s technology stack; comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases, datasets, or business systems.

• Proficient in at least one of the following: Python, TypeScript, or Go; capable of acquiring knowledge of the others as necessary.

• Developed LLMs/agents or agentic workflows in a production environment, encompassing prompts, tools, evaluations, and failure scenarios.

• Created an AI-native workflow, automation, or agent that is still actively in use; openness to showcase it during the interview process.

• Skilled in deciphering undocumented processes through collaboration with non-engineers.

• Ability to self-manage and thrive in ambiguous situations.

• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders.

• Background in a forward-deployed solutions engineering, internal tools, or consulting engineering role, or experience in end-to-end process transformation.

• Eagerness to leverage AI throughout the application process and demonstrate practical experience with AI on a real task.
