Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Engage deeply within the client's environment from the discovery phase through to architecture, development, production, and handover.

• Develop production-grade agentic AI systems for enterprise clients in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, retail, and global logistics.

• Create designs for multi-agent orchestration, including tool and function invocation, retrieval, planning and routing, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, state management and checkpointing, guardrails, and failure recovery.

• Construct ingestion and enrichment pipelines to handle messy structured and unstructured data, including documents, PDFs, and object storage.

• Set up evaluation datasets, automate grading processes, and monitor metrics like groundedness, faithfulness, and retrieval quality.

• Enhance model selection, routing, prompts, context budgets, caching strategies, costs, and latency optimization.

• Ensure observability, tracing, CI/CD processes, infrastructure as code, monitoring, security measures, and compliance reviews are in place.

• Collaborate with client architects, DevOps teams, QA specialists, and engineers within small delivery teams.

• Work closely with client engineers, sharing knowledge through active monitoring and documentation practices.

• Depending on seniority, lead workstreams or delivery teams, contribute to pre-sales efforts and estimations, mentor FDEs, and assist in the interviewing process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Python, including asynchronous programming, typing, testing, and packaging.

• Familiarity with TypeScript / Node is advantageous.

• Practical production experience with frontier models, prompt and context engineering, structured outputs, tool and function calling, streaming, and token/context-window management.

• Experience in constructing and deploying multi-agent or agentic workflows, planner/router patterns, supervisor and sub-agent designs, ReAct-style loops, state and checkpointing, retries, interrupts, and human-in-the-loop review gates.

• Knowledge of at least one orchestration framework such as Anthropic Agent SDK, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or a similar tool.

• Understanding of chunking, embeddings, hybrid and semantic search, re-ranking, citation and provenance, and natural-language-to-query translation.

• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or equivalent, in addition to SQL; ability to design schemas for agent retrieval.

• Proven experience in building ingestion and enrichment pipelines over both structured and unstructured sources, including documents, PDFs, and object storage.

• Experience creating evaluation harnesses and datasets, LLM-as-judge systems, regression tests, and use-case-specific metrics.

• Production deployment experience on AWS, including services like Bedrock, Azure, or GCP; familiarity with containers, serverless architectures, networking basics, secrets management, and IAM.

• Proficiency in Git, code review processes, testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Terraform or equivalent, and observability practices.

• Strong written communication skills in English.

• For FDE mid-level: 3+ years in software engineering and 1+ year of hands-on experience with LLM/agentic work, including at least one production system.

• For Senior FDE: 5+ years in engineering and 2+ years in AI or agentic AI, alongside end-to-end architecture ownership of a production agent system.

• For Lead FDE: 7+ years of experience, with leadership of delivery teams comprising 3–7 individuals, engagement in tech-lead roles, pre-sales and estimation experience, and mentoring capabilities.

• Client-facing experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with client architects and business stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel occasionally and comfort in working across different time zones.

• Strong advantage: Anthropic certification, production experience with Anthropic Agent SDK, MCP, Claude Code, LLM observability, experience in regulated environments, knowledge representation with graph/taxonomies, Kafka/streaming, Databricks, voice/multimodal agents, FinOps, open-source contributions, or experience as an FDE/solutions architect/delivery consultant.
