Forensic Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Address the needs of patients affected by sexual assault, human trafficking, and domestic violence at NMC and BMC campus locations.

• Assist NMC colleagues dealing with domestic violence/IPV through the SOAR program or workplace violence response initiatives.

• Provide telehealth support to emergency departments in Norfolk and Hastings for individuals facing sexual assault and human trafficking.

• Deliver, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

• Address the comprehensive care requirements of specified patient populations.

• Operate within long-term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural care settings.

• Commit to a maximum of seven 12-hour tele-SANE shifts each month.

• Primarily available for night shifts, weekends, holidays, and fill-in gaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Nursing SANE/Forensic Examiner is required.

• A Bachelor's degree in a clinical field is mandatory.

• At least 1 year of clinical experience is required.

• Strong communication skills are essential.

• The ability to show initiative, work as part of a team, and adapt is required.

• Must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), or Physician Assistant (PA) in Nebraska.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) approved program is required.

• Completion of the initial IAFN Online SANE Training within 12 weeks of employment is necessary.

• Direct patient care experience is preferred.

• Prior experience in an emergency department, women's services, or trauma care is preferred based on the role.

• A Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is preferred.

• Additional training such as STABLE, smoking cessation counseling, basic critical care, or other specialized courses is preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred.

• Proficiency with email applications is preferred.

• Competence with departmental equipment and systems such as patient care devices, telecommunication systems, information systems, pneumatic tube systems, general patient care supplies, and transport equipment is preferred.

• TNCC certification is preferred.

• ACLS training is preferred.
