This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide analytical support for managing federal information requests, encompassing both routine and complex inquiries, backlogged cases, appeals, and litigation issues.
• Identify, review, and analyze records that are responsive to assigned FOIA requests utilizing approved case-management and tracking systems.
• Conduct disclosure assessments and apply FOIA exemptions in line with applicable laws and agency policies.
• Collaborate with Government FOIA personnel, program offices, regional offices, records custodians, and requesters.
• Prepare records for release employing approved redaction tools, including sanitization, Bates numbering, and indexes that describe withheld materials.
• Assist with appeals and litigation matters through eDiscovery reviews, preparation of correspondence, Vaughn-index support, and documentation of actions.
• Develop and implement Government-approved search terms within designated eDiscovery systems.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate case files along with supporting documentation.
• Review work products for completeness, accuracy, consistent application of exemptions, and required documentation.
• Monitor case progression, escalate issues, and suggest process improvements to minimize rework and ensure timely completion.
• Proven expertise in the review and management of FOIA cases.
• Relevant training and experience in supporting FOIA case processing, disclosure reviews, records redaction, appeals, litigation, or similar federal information-access roles.
• Strong understanding of FOIA processes and associated federal laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in applying FOIA knowledge and independent judgment to records review and disclosure assessments.
• Familiarity with federal agency FOIA operations, including collaboration among program offices, records custodians, regional offices, and designated disclosure officials.
• Experience with case-management systems, SharePoint, Box, and approved eDiscovery tools.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to document disclosure recommendations, maintain precise case files, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and sustain the necessary Tier 1 background investigation.
• Compliance with HSPD-12/PIV requirements and suitability protocols.
• Fulfillment of the residency requirement of having resided in the United States for at least three of the last five years prior to applying for a Federal ID Card, subject to applicable provisions.
• Completion of mandatory training in security awareness, privacy, records management, Rules of Behavior, and relevant role-based training.
• Adherence to nondisclosure requirements.
• Capability to work remotely and attend in-person meetings as necessary.
