Flex Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver on-demand and proactive field medical support, encompassing temporary vacancy backfill, enhanced engagement, and KOL coverage.

• Engage in fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions and address unsolicited inquiries.

• Refer complex medical questions to Medical Information.

• Present medical information to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and various audiences.

• Provide short-term KOL, institution, and account coverage while keeping updated territory plans.

• Offer compliant medical education on priority topics such as disease state, MOA, and safety/REMS.

• Stay informed on scientific literature, treatment landscapes, and emerging data on rare kidney diseases.

• Ensure scientific presence and logistical coordination at both regional and national congresses.

• Document insights from HCPs, medical trends, and unmet needs, directing valuable insights to Medical Strategy owners.

• Log interactions in CRM within 48 hours while adhering to Medical and Compliance guidelines.

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of medical projects.

• Promote proactive scientific exchanges with community nephrologists and advanced practice practitioners, supporting the field medical team through territory projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree is strongly preferred, such as PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP, in a relevant scientific field.

• A combination of education and applicable work experience may be taken into account.

• At least 2 years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector; relevant clinical or academic experience may also be relevant.

• Preference for experience in nephrology or rare diseases, particularly IgAN or FSGS.

• Proven success in supporting new product launches is advantageous.

• Experience collaborating with KOLs, attending medical congresses, and working within cross-functional matrix teams.

• Extensive scientific knowledge of assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas.

• Strong scientific understanding and the ability to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with KOLs on intricate medical topics.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capability to adapt content for varied audiences.

• Ability to synthesize and convey scientific information in a compliant, balanced, and engaging manner.

• Strategic thinking, collaboration, project management skills, organizational skills, and proactive problem-solving abilities.

• Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with changing priorities.

• Familiarity with FDA guidelines and regulations, PhRMA Code, as well as other compliance and industry standards.

• Proficiency in CRM systems such as Veeva, standard field reporting, and virtual engagement tools.

• Professional demeanor, collaborative mindset, integrity, and the ability to cultivate a positive, solutions-oriented team environment.

• Residency in the assigned territory is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 60–80%; attendance at regional and national meetings as assigned is mandatory.

• Availability for some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
