Flex Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Facilitate balanced and on-label scientific discussions while addressing unsolicited inquiries.

• Refer complex questions to Medical Information when necessary.

• Provide medical presentations to a variety of audiences, including physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.

• Offer temporary coverage for KOLs, institutions, and accounts as per organizational requirements.

• Sustain territory relationships and maintain an updated plan for transitioning back to the MSL role.

• Conduct compliant one-on-one and small-group medical education on key topics such as disease states, mechanisms of action, and safety/REMS.

• Stay informed about scientific literature, treatment landscapes, and emerging data related to rare kidney diseases.

• Represent scientifically and coordinate logistics at regional and national congresses.

• Document insights from healthcare professionals, medical trends, and unmet needs, and share valuable insights with Medical Strategy owners.

• Log interactions in the CRM within 48 hours while adhering to Medical and Compliance guidelines.

• Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of medical projects.

• Assist with compliance activities related to clinical trials, scientific interactions, and unsolicited medical/scientific information.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree is highly preferred, such as PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP, in a relevant scientific field.

• A combination of education and relevant job experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

• A minimum of 2 years of MSL experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.

• Relevant clinical or academic background may also be taken into account.

• Experience in nephrology or rare diseases, especially IgAN or FSGS, is highly preferred.

• Proven success in supporting the launch of new products is advantageous.

• Familiarity with KOLs, medical congresses, and cross-functional matrix teams is essential.

• In-depth scientific knowledge of assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas.

• Strong scientific acumen with the ability to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with KOLs on intricate medical topics.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

• Capability to synthesize and convey scientific information in a compliant, balanced, and engaging way.

• Skills in strategic thinking, collaboration, and project management.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Proactive and innovative in problem-solving.

• Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.

• Familiarity with FDA guidelines and regulations, PhRMA Code, and other compliance standards.

• Proficiency in CRM systems like Veeva, standard field reporting, and virtual engagement tools.

• Professionalism, collaboration, and integrity are essential.

• Must reside within the assigned territory.

• Willingness to travel 60–80%, including attendance at regional and national meetings as needed.

• Availability for some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
