Fitness Center Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Engage in activities at the Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center

• Conduct fitness center classes as needed

• Implement safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or equipment

• Notify the manager about equipment issues and label malfunctioning equipment as out of service

• Arrange customer appointments and classes

• Communicate scheduled appointments to program providers

• Clarify procedures, exercises, classes, and equipment to center members

• Handle phone inquiries and direct them accordingly

• Receive, distribute, and organize faxed documentation

• Maintain the daily cash sheet accurately

• Execute center opening and closing responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and center members warmly

• Provide tours for prospective and new members

• Guide and assist new members in using equipment and basic exercise programs

• Modify or update exercise programs as requested by members

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Certification in First Aid and CPR is mandatory

• Prior experience in office procedures is essential

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Capability to perform clerical tasks with high accuracy

• Familiarity with medical and fitness terminology is preferred

• Background in a fitness center or a public interaction role is desirable

• Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the position

• Capacity to bend, stretch, kneel, twist, and engage in other class activities

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

• Required to be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella

• Must obtain a flu vaccine during the flu season in the hiring year and annually thereafter, or have an approved medical or religious exemption

• Availability for a flexible schedule, including two Saturdays per month from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
