Fire Protection Field Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Engage with clients to perform, analyze, and record assessments of fire alarm dispatch communication resources and procedures, fire department equipment, staffing, training, and geographic distribution, as well as water supply networks including hydraulic analysis and building information for PPC requirements.

• Execute both office and field verifications and plan trips to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely completion of work.

• Carry out studies to evaluate complex and moderately complex community hazard mitigation gradings and prepare reports in accordance with corporate standards.

• Assist in orchestrating meetings with local officials in small group settings and workshops, providing information or advice as requested.

• Offer customer support for Verisk products through on-site visits as necessary.

• Mentor and train less experienced staff as required.

• Uphold corporate standards regarding quality, timeliness, productivity, and customer service.

• Manage CHM equipment and supplies in line with Verisk policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Minimum of one year of experience in fire/property insurance, fire protection services, or engineering.

• Field experience in executing detailed analyses is preferred.

• Successful completion of designated in-house training or equivalent is required.

• Proven ability to execute all field work assignments at this grade level.

• Capability to observe, examine, measure, analyze, map, gather data, and describe all dimensions of a community’s fire protection capacity.

• Competence to safely operate a vehicle to and from all locations.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. and regularly ascend stairs and ladders.

• Willingness to work in diverse neighborhoods and environments and drive for extended durations.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for one-on-one interactions.

• Ability to articulate ideas and concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback.

• Competency to conduct on-the-job training and engage in public speaking for groups of various sizes.

• Adequate technical proficiency and communication skills to represent Verisk in trade group settings.

• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications.

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record in line with company policies.

• Willingness to travel overnight and/or by air, both in and out of state, as necessary.
