This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Participate in remote programming of Fire Alarm Systems.
• Reach out to local offices to gather the necessary files for constructing comprehensive Simplex Fire Alarm System programs.
• Collaborate with the Design Team to acquire .csv files along with the most recent submitted and approved drawings.
• Analyze and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Apply and interpret relevant NFPA standards based on the type of building, construction, hazard classification, and architectural features.
• Work alongside district contracting teams regarding customer contracts, program timelines, and installation crew requirements.
• Collaborate with the Remote Programming Team in a virtual Microsoft Teams environment to share standardized processes.
• Participate in weekly Microsoft Teams meetings focused on backlog and urgent projects.
• Upload finalized projects to SharePoint and provide links to local offices for downloading to the Fire Alarm Panel.
• Assist local technicians during uploads and troubleshoot programming-related issues.
• Advocate for the team and foster collaborative relationships with local offices.
• Proven experience as a Simplex Fire Alarm System Technician/Programmer.
• Over 10 years of experience in Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programming.
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programming tools.
• Skilled in interpreting and applying relevant NFPA standards.
• Capable of reading and understanding construction documents.
• NICET Level II or III certification is preferred.
