This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Evaluate system designs and collaborate with systems and service departments to ensure successful testing and inspection.
• Conduct field surveys and maintain daily logs of project activities.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems.
• Create comprehensive inspection and deficiency reports in compliance with NFPA standards.
• Ensure timely delivery and testing within budget constraints.
• Record and transmit inspection findings using technical devices.
• Manage project and vehicle inventory.
• Offer support, direction, and expertise to fellow inspectors.
• Efficiently handle job scheduling and monitor job progress with a strong emphasis on quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Adhere to industry standards and procedures, as well as Sciens safety programs and policies.
• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in an inspector technician position within the fire detection and protection sector.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of current fire alarm systems and clean agent/special hazard fire suppression systems.
• NICET Level I certification.
• Intermediate familiarity with NFPA 72 and IFC codes or state-adopted fire code requirements.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and diagrams, and following specifications.
• Physically capable of frequently lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work at heights and ascend ladders; standing and walking for the majority of the workday.
• Knowledgeable about OSHA safety standards and capable of obtaining OSHA 10 certifications.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
