This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main point of contact for client support inquiries regarding Empyrean's Profitability and Budgeting & Planning solutions, managing requests from initial assessment to resolution.
• Diagnose configuration, data, reporting, and calculation challenges within current profitability and planning models.
• Address issues related to dimensions, hierarchies, allocation logic, driver-based assumptions, and forecasting methodologies.
• Assist clients in understanding profitability reports across various perspectives including customer, instrument, product, and organizational levels.
• Support clients in navigating budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to identify root causes for discrepancies.
• Keep thorough documentation of support cases and contribute to the internal knowledge repository.
• Elevate complex configuration or product-related issues and ensure they are resolved effectively.
• Provide guidance to clients on best practices in data management, reporting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and profitability assessment.
• Serve as a liaison between client users and Empyrean's product management team.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools and standardized processes to enhance the efficiency and consistency of support.
• Protect sensitive customer information by adhering to relevant policies, controls, and authorized communication channels.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required and directed.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Background in banking, financial services, FP&A, or financial technology.
• Comprehensive understanding of the banking sector, accounting principles, and financial statements.
• Proficient in Excel with experience managing large datasets.
• Excellent attention to detail along with strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• Ability to follow and enhance structured processes, particularly in a high-pressure support environment.
• Proven AI literacy in a professional context and sound judgment regarding its application, with an awareness of data handling and confidentiality issues.
• Practical knowledge of bank profitability concepts, including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), cost allocation, and profitability measurement across products, customers, instruments, and organizations.
• Understanding of financial planning concepts within a banking context, such as net interest margin forecasting, modeling non-interest income and expenses, and capital and payroll planning.
• Familiarity with a bank's balance sheet and loan payment calculations.
• Knowledge of fixed-income cash flow calculations and fixed-income mathematics.
• Understanding of risk-based and regulatory capital attribution and allowance (ACL/ALLL) calculations.
• Experience in supporting or implementing planning or profitability solutions within a financial institution.
• Background in financial data management, ETL tools, and Microsoft Power Query.
• Proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tools.
• Previous experience in customer support, consulting, implementation, or customer success roles.
• Experience in creating or enhancing repeatable, AI-assisted workflows.
