Financial Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Consult with patients about their benefits, coverage options, and financial alternatives.

• Conduct benefit verification and manage prior authorization processes.

• Offer continuous financial education and support throughout the patient care journey.

• Act as an educator, advocate, and liaison for patients.

• Maintain patient accounts by gathering, documenting, and updating personal financial and insurance details.

• Work collaboratively with departments, staff, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a medical business office.

• Proficient understanding of healthcare billing and collections, insurance benefits, and patient relations.

• Experience in interpreting payer remittance advice.

• Capability to distinguish between allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, patient responsibilities, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

• Experience in an OB/GYN office is advantageous.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with departments, staff, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance companies.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently.

• Detail-oriented and proficient with technology.

• Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• High level of customer service skills.
