This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Consult with patients regarding their benefits, coverage options, and financial alternatives.
• Execute tasks related to benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Offer continuous financial education and assistance throughout the patients' treatment journey.
• Act as an educator, advocate, and liaison for patients.
• Manage patient accounts by collecting, documenting, and updating personal financial and insurance details.
• Collaborate with physicians, colleagues, various departments, managers, patients, and insurance providers.
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a medical business office.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing and collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interactions.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting payer remittance advice.
• Ability to distinguish between allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, patient responsibilities, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Experience in an OB/GYN office is advantageous.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to work independently with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient with computers.
• Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• High level of customer service proficiency.
• Availability from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
