This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Supervise the daily financial management and reporting activities of the organization.
• Prepare and review monthly management reports, financial statements, and executive reporting packages.
• Offer strategic financial guidance and suggestions to foster business growth and assist in executive decision-making.
• Establish and implement Xero, which includes designing accounting processes and financial controls.
• Manage payroll oversight, compliance, and financial governance throughout the organization.
• Enhance finance systems, workflows, and internal processes to ensure scalability.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management efforts.
• Track financial performance and deliver strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Ensure adherence to Australian accounting standards and relevant financial regulations.
• Review reconciliations, ensure general ledger accuracy, and oversee month-end closing processes.
• Develop and sustain financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Assist external accountants, auditors, and comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Analyze business performance, profitability, and financial trends.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing financial systems, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
• Support business planning, financial modeling, and strategic decision-making processes.
• Provide guidance and oversight to bookkeeping or finance support staff as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically as a Financial Controller in an Australian business.
• Proven track record of end-to-end responsibility for the finance function within an Australian organization.
• Demonstrated experience with implementing Xero and establishing accounting systems and financial processes from scratch.
• Extensive experience managing payroll oversight and ensuring Australian payroll compliance.
• Experience providing advice to business owners or executive leadership teams.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and financial reporting obligations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
• Proficient in using Xero, MYOB, or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modeling capabilities.
• Experience in implementing finance systems or process enhancements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, allied health, wellness, or not-for-profit organizations is a plus.
• Experience supporting growing SMEs or multi-site organizations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Power BI or financial reporting dashboards is a bonus.
• Experience mentoring finance team members is an added advantage.
• Availability for meetings and collaboration during core AEST or PHT business hours.
• Disclosure of any ongoing roles or client work is required.
