This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +2 more countries.
• Take ownership of the month-end closing process across multiple entities, ensuring preliminary financials are completed by Business Day 7 and final close by Business Day 10.
• Prepare entity-level profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, reconciliations, and audit-ready schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
• Coordinate requirements for external audits, tax reporting, lender communications, and regulatory compliance.
• Reconcile TMS/operational software, factoring platforms, bank accounts, payroll, and the general ledger.
• Address data discrepancies, investigate root causes, and enhance system integrations.
• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including aging schedules and payment runs.
• Maintain and update a rolling 13-week operating cash flow forecast along with variance analysis.
• Identify and escalate liquidity risks, funding requirements, and overdue obligations.
• Supervise billing, cash application, collections, accounts receivable aging, and factoring reconciliations.
• Maintain customer credit registers, assess creditworthiness, monitor exposure, and enforce credit limits.
• Generate weekly credit-risk reports for leadership review.
• Lead the accounting integration process for new acquisitions, including opening balances, system/bank migrations, payroll, and cut-off controls.
• Conduct post-close working capital reconciliations and provide weekly updates on integration progress.
• Deliver validated financial data, margin analysis, and variance commentary to corporate finance.
• Lead and mentor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and staff accounting teams.
• Develop standard operating procedures, maintain service levels, and ensure cross-training among staff.
• Uphold accounting policies, close timelines, payment controls, and credit holds across operating entities.
• Over 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity month-end closing processes.
• Extensive experience managing high-volume accounts payable and receivable.
• Proficient in 13-week cash forecasting.
• Experience in customer credit administration.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Understanding of internal control design.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must be available Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time (Cincinnati).
• Enjoy 10+ business days of paid time off, which increases to 15 days after 2 years of employment.
