Financial Clearance Representative, L2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Utilize integrated health information systems and telephone technology to enable accessible, coordinated, and seamless interactions with customers.

• Accurately search for patients in the EPIC database to minimize duplicate patient records.

• Evaluate patients’ financial capacity to pay and refer them to financial counseling when necessary.

• Submit eligibility requests to payors to confirm current coverage.

• Provide clinical, insurance, and demographic information to payors for precertification purposes.

• Verify insurance eligibility utilizing various tools.

• Request and generate referrals for designated populations.

• Pre-certify services, obtain authorization numbers, and input medical, ICD, and CPT codes into patient accounts.

• Confirm employment and insurance details for Workers’ Compensation cases.

• Collaborate with the Veterans’ Administration to guarantee services are covered and authorized.

• Supply accurate information to billing and case management teams to support claims payment.

• Collect complete, accurate, and timely clinical and financial information from medical personnel and referring physicians.

• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to Office of Compliance and HIPAA standards.

• Notify management of system and workflow issues.

• Execute FCR Pre-Reg responsibilities and provide assistance as needed.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree or higher, or a high school diploma/GED with over 2 years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or a related field.

• Outstanding customer service skills, enthusiasm, and empathy.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills for managing sensitive and confidential situations while building effective working relationships.

• Keen attention to detail, professionalism, punctuality, and consistent attendance.

• Capacity to escalate issues when necessary.

• Familiarity with coding, insurance, and Federal, State, and third-party billing/reimbursement requirements.

• Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office and Internet.

• Ability to meet employer training obligations.
