Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Collect and confirm demographic and insurance details.

• Acquire authorization, referrals, and notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and various procedures/treatments.

• Schedule patients for their initial, follow-up, and additional appointments/procedures.

• Operate in a call center environment while achieving individual quality metrics, such as productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Manage patient flow and ensure timely processing of services.

• Maintain expertise and apply practices utilized within the department, physician practice, or hospital to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Stay informed on insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and BHSF Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certification, GED, Training, Experience.

• Successfully complete the Patient Access training course.

• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work setting.

• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, team player with compassion, excellent customer service, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems, along with accurate typing skills.

• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, particularly medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
