Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Collect and validate demographic and insurance details, including authorizations, referrals, and notifications for diagnostics, surgical procedures, therapy, admissions/observations, and other treatments.

• Arrange initial, follow-up, and additional appointments/procedures for patients.

• Operate in a call center-style environment.

• Achieve personal quality metrics encompassing productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Manage patient flow and guarantee timely processing.

• Maintain awareness and application of departmental, physician practice, and hospital practices to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Stay informed about insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and overall BHSF Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, staff, physicians, and community members.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certification, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Successfully complete the Patient Access training course.

• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, and possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology (preferred).

• Proficient with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

• Accurate typing skills.

• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• Less than 1 year of the minimum required experience.
