This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Conduct analyses to evaluate utilization and financial trends, including costs, revenues, and financial commitments, to forecast future revenues and expenditures.
• Grasp the financial implications of decisions and effectively communicate them to management.
• Create, produce, and verify reports based on detailed claims, eligibility, pharmacy, and clinical data.
• Collect and assess financial and clinical data.
• Review medical contracts and product lines.
• Initiate and oversee medical and administrative cost-saving strategies.
• Ensure the accuracy of information gathered for analysis purposes.
• Keep current with the computer information system.
• Conduct competitive analysis and present results to senior management.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets for revenue and medical expenses.
• Track monthly variances to identify emerging trends.
• Identify and investigate trends and patterns through departmental reports, databases, processes, and data sources for effective data mining.
• Enhance internal analysis processes in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Reconcile internal data sets with information supplied by the State.
• Analyze and deliver reports on medical, contract, and administrative activities.
• Ensure adherence to MAR, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is essential.
• A minimum of two to four (2-4) years of experience in the financial sector is mandatory.
• Experience in managed care or healthcare is desirable.
• Proficiency in SQL and/or SAS is strongly preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Word, is necessary.
• Understanding of analysis concepts, practices, and procedures is important.
• Ability to collaborate with others as well as work independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent critical thinking and listening skills.
• Capability to communicate effectively with all management levels.
• Detail-oriented approach.
• AFP FP&A or related certification is preferred.
• Occasional travel may be required.
