This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare and update regular management reports, which include monthly P&L packages, KPI dashboards, and brand-level performance summaries.
• Develop and sustain Excel financial models that encompass revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, operating expenses, and headcount.
• Conduct budget-to-actual and period-over-period variance analysis, providing explanations for the results.
• Assist in annual budgeting and rolling forecasting by collecting and challenging inputs.
• Evaluate product, channel, and brand profitability using Cin7 inventory/COGS data and QuickBooks Online financials.
• Monitor marketing efficiency in relation to contribution margin.
• Analyze vendor and operating expenditure trends in Ramp and highlight variances.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to align reporting with closed books and investigate discrepancies.
• Create ad hoc analyses and recommendations for the VP of Finance and brand leadership.
• Prepare daily cash-on-hand and available-credit reports across various bank accounts, entities, and brands.
• Manage the rolling thirteen-week cash forecast.
• Track anticipated collections and disbursements utilizing SAI and Ramp data.
• Organize and route funding transfers while monitoring balances.
• Reconcile daily bank activities and investigate any exceptions.
• Assist with borrowing base, covenant, and lender reporting.
• Oversee merchant processor and marketplace settlements, ensuring payouts are reconciled with QuickBooks Online.
• Maintain bank administration records and payment approval matrices.
• Coordinate with payroll to fulfill wage, contractor, and benefit obligations through Deel.
• Utilize Claude for data cleaning, reconciliation, model documentation, and initial analysis, verifying outputs.
• Replace manual processes with repeatable templates and document workflows.
• Report to the VP of Finance and collaborate closely with the Accounting Supervisor and brand leads.
• Three to seven years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, treasury, or a similar analytical finance role.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data cleanup, and user-friendly models.
• Strong understanding of the three financial statements and the flow of operating and cash decisions through them.
• Experience in building or managing a cash forecast, or a genuine desire to take ownership of one.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system.
• Comfortable using AI tools, particularly Claude, as a collaborative resource, with the discernment to verify outputs before reliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
• High degree of accuracy, strong ownership, and discretion regarding confidential financial data.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer e-commerce, consumer packaged goods, or retail sectors.
• Background in multi-entity or multi-brand reporting, including intercompany activities.
• Exposure to asset-based lending, revolving credit facilities, borrowing base certificates, or covenant reporting.
• Familiarity with Ramp, SAI, Cin7, or Deel, or comparable A/P, A/R, inventory, and HRIS platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools for data extraction and manipulation without relying on others.
• Experience with Amazon, Shopify, or marketplace settlement and fee reporting.
• Progress toward CPA, CMA, or CFA certification.
