This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with Finance, operational teams, and department leaders to collect inputs, validate assumptions, and convey financial insights.
• Assist in or lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
• Aid in the monthly and year-end financial closing processes as well as the preparation of financial statements.
• Analyze financial data and generate accounting-related documents, such as invoices and journal entries.
• Examine past performance, conduct variance analysis, identify trends, suggest enhancements, and support decision-making.
• Create, manage, and enhance Excel-based financial tools.
• Help develop dashboards, reporting tools, commentary, and analyses for program and departmental outcomes.
• Support key metric reporting for company leadership, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare commentary on revenue and cost results at specific points in time and over different periods.
• Evaluate processes and recommend improvements for implementation.
• Address one-off reporting requests and assist in the preparation and upkeep of cost and fee information.
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
• A University Degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, or Accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, encompassing financial modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS), and analysis of large datasets.
• Capable of efficiently summarizing large volumes of complex information clearly.
• Proficient in creating clear, precise, and professional presentations.
• Expertise in drill-down and variance analysis across various dimensions, identifying trends, and making improvement recommendations.
• High level of accuracy coupled with strong attention to detail.
• Strong integrity, personal responsibility, and accountability.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Capability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
• Experience in implementing process improvements and/or developing automated dashboards.
• Completion or progress towards CPA designation is considered advantageous.
• Experience with SAP S4 HANA/SAP Fiori, PowerBI, and Datarails would be beneficial.
• Work remotely from a Canadian home office.
• Flexibility for occasional extra hours may be necessary.
• In-person meetings may occur occasionally.
