This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish strong relationships with students, families, and influencers throughout the financial aid journey.
• Assist students who are starting and actively engaged in their education across all WCU locations and programs.
• Organize and reorganize student financial aid packaging for each academic year.
• Make prompt adjustments to student awards and address ongoing student tasks.
• Ensure that all financial balances are settled before graduation and collaborate with UA teams to guarantee accurate and timely fund disbursement.
• Calculate and initiate offers for financial aid and payment plans.
• Maintain consistent communication with students and ensure that all required documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
• Educate students about their borrower rights and responsibilities, guide them through FAFSA completion, loan decision-making, scholarship opportunities, and alternative funding options.
• Address financial aid concerns, identify obstacles, and propose innovative solutions.
• Manage a designated caseload of students and implement contact strategies to meet operational objectives.
• Ensure that all processing adheres to state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate proactively with campus and UA teams to enhance student and operational results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; experienced candidates may be considered without a degree if they possess over 7 years of financial aid experience and comparable education/experience.
• Strong working knowledge of financial aid standards and processes within an educational context.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid is required.
• Must not be in default on any federal student loan or owe repayment for a federal grant.
• Must agree to audio and video recording of student financial aid consultations for training and quality assurance purposes.
• Exhibit the highest level of integrity, professional ethics, and confidentiality.
• Strong customer service skills aimed at fostering student success.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Above-average computer proficiency.
• Skills in multitasking and effective time management.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required, to support students across various time zones.
