Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead the monthly accounting close process across various entities, which includes handling journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.

• Oversee the preparation of the Annual Report and manage the statutory audit process.

• Draft Annual Reports for auditors and upload reconciled merchant balances for the audit sampling process.

• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

• Administer VAT reporting, declarations, and payments.

• Generate quarterly and annual regulatory returns.

• Verify monthly payroll files and coordinate with the payroll provider regarding salary data.

• Compile annual social cost reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packs for senior management and the board members.

• Manage the capitalization of tangible fixed assets and execute amortization and depreciation schedules in NetSuite.

• Reconcile the fixed asset register with Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.

• Review the aging of trade debtors and creditors to enhance debt control.

• Reconcile corporate bank accounts in NetSuite and maintain the primary group reconciliation sheet on a monthly basis.

• Engage in Finance process-improvement projects.

• Collaborate cross-functionally and globally as a responsible owner, showcasing self-initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• A qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification industry experience.

• Experience in a startup environment is preferred.

• Proficient in NetSuite ERP, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to identify, create, and implement process improvements.

• A self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced startup setting.

• Familiarity with or experience in the payments industry is a plus.

• Knowledge of regulatory reporting, including CBI/FCA and SFSA, is advantageous.

• Experience with safeguarding regulations and audits is desirable.

• Background in Accounting Practice, with experience in startups or SMEs is particularly appealing.
